About Us

Silver Star Performing Arts is the name we use publicly for our arts programs; Bring Em Young Academy Performing Arts remains our legal name for grants and tax records.

Silver Star Performing Arts is an after-school arts program to serve children and youth ages 2.5 to 15. Located in North Las Vegas, it offers an innovative year-round program for children and families in the area. Silver Star Performing Arts grew from years of serving children and families through Bring’em Young Academy, the childcare center. What began as a passion for nurturing young learners evolved into a broader vision: creating opportunities for youth to explore, grow, and express themselves through dance, music, and theater.

We are committed to creating welcoming programs for children of different backgrounds, abilities, learning styles, and experience levels.

Scholarships and sliding-scale options help reduce financial barriers so more children can participate.

Bring Em Young Academy Performing Arts (BYAPA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to reaching youth across Las Vegas through scholarships, mentorship, and real performance opportunities.  We’ve created a space where creative potential becomes lived experiences.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to nurture creativity, confidence, and self-expression in every child, especially those who may not otherwise have access to arts, enrichment, or consistent support in their early years.

Our Commitment to Child Safety

Every child at Silver Star Performing Arts deserves a safe, welcoming place to learn and perform. Our child safety practices include background checks, staff screening and training adults who work with students, supervising classes and rehearsals, and releasing children only to authorized caregivers. We keep emergency contacts on file, respond promptly to injuries or safety concerns, and follow reporting requirements for suspected abuse or neglect. We also ask families for permission before sharing a child’s photo or story.

Leadership

Gloria Phillips – President

Gloria Phillips is the President and Executive Director of Silver Star Performing Arts and the Founder of Bring’em Young Academy childcare center. With an MBA, more than 35 years of leadership experience, and over 15 years as a childcare owner and early childhood educator, Gloria has dedicated her career to helping children grow in confidence, creativity, and self-expression.

Gloria’s passion for the arts began with her own transformation. As a child struggling with a stutter, she often found it difficult to express herself. A caring teacher introduced her to singing and acting, and little by little, Gloria found something she had been searching for—her voice and the confidence to use it.

Years later, as a childcare owner, educator, and former Children’s Church Director, Gloria recognized that same need in other children—the need to be seen, encouraged, and given a chance to shine. That experience became the heart behind Silver Star Performing Arts: creating a place where every child, regardless of income or ability, can experience the arts, find their voice, build confidence, and discover what is possible.

Gloria does not manage the day-to-day operations of Bring’em Young Academy (BYA), allowing her to focus on Silver Star Performing Arts. The two organizations share facility space and refer families to one another when appropriate, but they operate independently, with separate bank accounts, budgets, and finances.

Sharon Quartucci – Treasurer

Sharon Quartucci is an accountant and serves as Treasurer. She has more than 40 years of tax-preparation experience and has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is also an IRS Enrolled Agent.

Sharon brings extensive knowledge of taxation, payroll, financial recordkeeping, and responsible fiscal management to Silver Star Performing Arts. Her experience helps the organization maintain strong financial practices, remain accountable, and build a stable foundation as it expands its programs and centers to serve more children and families.

“Stepping into leadership has strengthened my organizational and communication skills while deepening my passion for supporting children and families.  One of the most rewarding parts of my work has been building meaningful relationships with families and helping connect children with opportunities that allow them to thrive.  My passion will always be helping children, especially those who have so much potential but simply need the right environment, encouragement, and opportunity to bring it out.  My goal is to continue serving our community by creating a welcoming space where children can be themselves, build confidence, explore their creativity, and discover just how much they are capable of achieving.”
